Chef and General
Manager James Martin, along with brothers Barry and Brian Jessurun of
The Vanilla Bean Café, opened 85 main in 2005. 85 main was created with
goal of offering fresh, quality seafood and steaks along with locally
grown produce in an atmosphere one might expect to find in a “big” city.
The emphasis is on freshness of ingredients and cooked-to-order menu
items. The interior of the building is completely remodeled, creating a
warm, inviting and casual dining environment. There is no need to drive
to Hartford or Providence - 85
Main offers a local quality dining experience.
Specials menu at 85 Main is a collaborative effort to showcase our chefs’ creative vision. We are
always looking for the best quality ingredients to fulfill this offer.

The Bar Menu is
available from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm daily. The Bar Menu is not available
in the dining room on Friday & Saturday nights.

Our shellfish is
delivered three times a week to ensure freshness. Our shellfish
supplier, Atlantic Mussel Harvesters of Rhode Island, services some of
the finest restaurants from Maine to Baltimore. We our impressed with
their own mission statement which is: To bring Restaurant Ready® live
mussels, oysters and clams, farmed and harvested in a safe and
environmentally sustainable manner, to our customers via the quickest,
freshest, most efficient methods. Our menu choices vary according to
season and availability and we are dedicated to having fresh product
throughout the week. We typically stock three or four different oyster
varieties every week.
