History
of Strada 18 :
On his honeymoon in Italy in 1990 David Raymer, Partner/chef,
was inspired by a restaurant on the highway between Florence and
Siena. It was a truck stop, but it was not your typical truck
stop. After all it was in Italy, complete with wood burning oven
and great food and wine. David, a long time professional chef in
New York City, Wondered why a casual pizza place with high
quality ingredients and fine wine didn’t exist in the U.S.
With
this goal in mind, he perfected his pizza over the next few
years, and finally with the help of Steven Semaya, a wine
enthusiast, and Luciano Ramirez, his long time sous chef, he
opened Strada 18. The name refers to a road that starts in
Campagna, the pizza capital of the world, and ends at the tip of
the boot.

Directions
From I-95
Northbound
- Take Exit 14 in Connecticut (South Norwalk) on right. Turn right
at stop sign at end of exit ramp,
onto
Fairfield Av. (continue for 0.4 mi.) and continue straight
onto W.
Washington St. (for 0.3mi.).
Strada 18
is on right hand side.
From I-95 Southbound
- Exit 15. Exit ramp splits: stay to right following signs for South
Norwalk. Left at light onto West Ave. Left at fifth light onto North
Main St. Left at second light onto Washington St. Strada 18 is on
right hand side.
From the Merritt
Parkway Northbound
- Exit 39A onto Route 7 south. At end of Route 7, take middle exit
(for South Norwalk). Right at light onto West Ave. Left at fourth
light onto North Main St. Left at second light onto Washington St.
Strada 18 is on right hand side.
From the Merritt
Parkway Southbound
- Exit 40A. Right at light onto Main Ave. After 1.1 miles, right
onto Route 123 . Over RR tracks, then left onto Route 7 south. At
end of Route 7, take middle exit
(Maritime Center/South Norwalk).
Right at light onto West Ave. Left at fourth light onto North Main
St. Left at second light onto Washington St. Strada 18 is on right
hand side.
From Route 7 Connector
Take the middle exit (Maritime Center/South Norwalk).
Right at light onto West Ave. Left at fourth light onto North Main
St. Left at second light onto Washington St. Strada 18 is on right
hand side.
